Just a note of welcome to the African Holistic Health Chapter of NY Blog. There a several upcoming events that I wanted to post. Kwanza @ Medgar Evers College on 12/19th (Bklyn, NY). Kwanzaa Event @ Boys & Girls High on 12/26/09 (Bklyn, NY). Kwanzaa Extravaganza @ Apollo Theatre Featuring the Forces of Nature on 12/26/09. Feel free to post other events on the Blog that I may not be aware of.

Each "year" humans on this planet accumulate an increased capacity to create a life where everyone can live in peace, harmony and abundance. Yet, this virus that we are infected with continues to cause us to want to destroy ourselves and each other, which is the same thing. What is wrong? What is the underlying self-destructive mechanism that we all seem to be infected with in one way or another as humans? We can't even talk to each other without each one feeling that he/she is absolutely correct and the other is absolutely WRONG! Opinion, speculation and theory becomes absolute fact that justifies the destruction of the OTHER! Our inner angst and discontent makes us feel that our beliefs are valid barometers of reality and that a god in the sky will punish or save us if we don't force others to be like us. Fear rules the day. Terrorists, epidemics, global warming, 2012 catastrophe, illuminati conspiracy, the "system", etc, etc.

As our capacity to do good increases we have an equal increase in our capacity, ability and willingness to do evil. And evil we do. We do evil good! We could easily eradicate disease, hunger, poverty, warfare, pollution, the energy crisis, global warming, etc. but virtually all the resources of humankind is used to do the opposite. What is wrong with people? Is it just because of the existence of so-called white people and the pre-dominance of their culture on the planet? I don't know. But I suspect it goes deeper than that. Would you want to live in a world where my Nuwabian, Islamic, Hebrew, Black Nationalist, Pan Africanist, Afrocentric, Black Christian, Pro-black.... CONSCIOUS Brothers and Sisters were in control and telling you what to do? I have a sneaking suspicion much of the world would still be governed by strife, conflict, competition, fear and ego driven division. What about the pre-dominance of patriarchy and the desire to subjugate the sacred feminine principle that runs through all current ideologies? I tend to distrust all of those who vociferously claim to have the ANSWER! In our time humility, thoughtfulness and truth has been lost in all quarters and among all people to one degree or another.

Of course we are not in control of the major events and decisions that operate on this planet, but we need to be in control of our own thoughts, actions and feelings. What we project into the universe has tremendous power. Do we always recognize that? Perhaps we don't rule this planet but we can make the decision that we will come together more and deal with each other in a more loving, giving and honest manner. We have the capacity to delete our ego and deal with each other in the way that we claim those whom we suppose rule the planet should.

The power that the smallest group of us can wield will offset the limited power of those we falsely believe to be so supremely powerful. Lets come together and do it. Lets correct what is wrong inside of each us so that the inner light can shine and truly illuminate the world.
