OKERA RAS I AND THE CHILDREN SING THE KWANZAA SONG
Sasa Kwanzaa!*
(Now Is Kwanzaa Time)
Kwanzaa is a non religious African-American celebration that acknowledges the harvest of our First Fruits. Kwanzaa is a time for Black people to come together in the tradition of our mother land, with drums, singing, story telling and other creativity. It is a time to acknowledge our ancestors and our children as the true fruit of our harvest, It is a time to come together and recognize that we are one people regardless of our different life styles and to be proud of our accomplishments, take a look at what we are doing as a people and to remember the principles by with we should live:
Umoja-unity
Kujichagulia-self determination
Ujima-collective work and responsibility
Ujamaa-cooperative economics
Nia-purpose
Kuumba-creativity
