Salaam and Trevor Jaha, celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary with the launch of their co-authored book, Black Love, bringing it back in style! The byline of the book is “Love Letters & Keys”. Along with a list of life and love affirming ingredients, the book consists of actual “unedited” letters and email the Harlem Power Couple scribed to one another while just friends, pre-marriage and post honeymoon. It even includes the letters they wrote to God, before they ever met!
This “small book with BIG TRUTHS” focuses on what the Jaha’s have grown to know as a core principal to understanding the divine magnificence of love…. “Black is the color of the universe… all of the colors, mixed together!” To the Jaha’s, the power of the universe transcends belief systems and prejudices some have with physical appearance, race, sexuality, economic status, education, career, religion and more.
The Black Love Tour was launched on September 1st 2009, at Harlem’s newest and truest Restaurant Lounge SVNTN Below. Proprietors Surayya Barbee and Eric Washington hosted 40+ guests with the theme “A Toast to Black Love”. As with all Black Love parties, Mr. & Mrs. Jaha shared the short film of their innovative wedding, intrigued and enthused the audience with a candid conversation of dating, family, sensuality, career, fidelity and more, then opened up the floor for Q&A and book signings.
Since the launch, The Jaha’s are encouraging people everywhere to “bring love back in style, by hosting Black Love Parties, in their homes, places of worship, community rooms, backyards and restaurants. “Your party, your theme”, says Salaam Jaha. My beloved husband and I show up ready to share our very special love with your very special guests, embracing them with light, laughter, love and a warm moment in time, to relish and remember!”
