What is Reflexology? Reflexology deals with the energy zones in
the body and how to apply various pressures usually to the feet
or hands. It is the study of the relationship between the different
body organs and the reflex points that will either stimulate them
or relax them. Reflexology's intriguing history spans from ancient
Egypt (Khamit) to the wellness boom of the 21st century. In its
evolution from an ancient practice to a modern alternative
medicine, reflexology has established itself as a safe, natural
means to achieve overall healing. In this class, we will get
a firsthand introduction into Reflexology and how it can help in

Evidence of the practice of reflexology has been found in ancient
egypt, dating as far back as 2500 BC. Alternative medicine
procedures were commonly practiced. The Tomb of the Physician,
Ankhmahor, is located in the necropolis of Saqqara. Saqqara was
a burial ground of Egyptian pharaohs for over a thousand years,
from the time of the First dynasty, the earliest organization of the
civilizations of the Upper and Lower Nile Valley, dating back to
2750 BC.
