Women & Wellness is a holistic gynecology practice I have started. With a bachelor's degree in biology from NYU and a medical degree from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, I am a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist and have practiced in NY and NJ for over 13 years.
My passion for obtaining health and wellness using natural modalities has been an integral part of my clinical care even in medical school. Continuing my education through subsequent years; I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) to study holistic nutrition and received dual Certification in Health Counseling from IIN and the Teacher’s College at Columbia University. As a teenager, I experienced the benefits that yoga, meditation, healthy eating and herbs had on my body. Having health challenges with recurrent bouts of the flu, ringworm, bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections, for months at a time with each, taught me one thing: prescription medications were temporary aids, but food was my cure. I realized food was nourishment for my body, as well as my mind and soul. Once I developed a balance for nurturing the whole of me, the yeast, bacterial vaginosis and other illnesses resolved permanently. If I can gain my health, so can you.

His maternal great great grandmother, great grandmother and grandmother were Cherokee Indians originally from Tallahassee, Florida. His maternal grandfather was from Porte au Prince, Haiti. The traditional healing methods used by his indigenous ancestors were passed down to Hru who incorporates them into his private practice. He is a father of three children and three grandchildren who have all been raised up on natural healing methods.
Hru has been a student of various natural health modalities for over a decade. Since 2004 Hru has studied under the tutelage of world renowned herbalist, natural health and nutrition expert and author Queen Afua and her husband, Kemetic Priest Baba Heru Semahj. In that same year Hru graduated from an intense Kemetic (Egyptian) rights of passage program, guided by Priest Baba Heru Semahj, earning him the title of “Divine Sacred Kingman” with the Shrine of Ptah in Brooklyn, NY. Hru is featured on pg 93 “The Men Speak” in Queen Afua’s recent book entitled “Overcoming an Angry Vagina,” where he gives a personal testimony on how his daughter was healed from HIV.

In 2009 Hru graduated from Dr. Afrika's Holistic Health Consultant class in Brooklyn, New York, USA and earned his title as a Certified Holistic Health Consultant. In the summer of 2010 Hru graduated from The Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York, New York, USA and earned a title as a Certified Holistic Health Coach. In addition, Hru obtained a title as a Certified Foot Reflexologist in the summer of 2011 from New York Board Certified Massage Therapist Aisha Shakti Hakim.
